April golf course closure = A E R A T I O N

The golf course has been closed for the past three days to aerate and sand greens, tees, and fairways. The process went fairly smooth overall, with the greens coming out looking better than any aeration in past years. We purchased a new product this spring called the "Sweep-N-Fill III."
Dream Turf has created an innovative product that greatly reduces the time you spend cleaning a green after aeration. Sweep-N-Fill III saves time and money by speeding up the process of back filling aerated greens.

The two brushes rotate forward and mimic push broom action which forces the sand into the holes. Normal dragging with a fixed brush or drag mat just smears the sand around, as the sand actually bridges across the holes. Many trips driving across the green with different  mats and brushes caused wheel ruts in each green, that took a week of rolling to smooth out. Two passes across each green with the Sweep-N-Fill, and the holes are filled. This saves a lot of time and cuts way down on the number of vehicle trips across the greens.

Kyle shows the Sweep-N-Fill in action on #14 green. He drove the unit two directions across the green, and the photo below shows the finished process on #13 green. A quick pass around the green with a backpack blower, and it's done. This unit works so well, we're going to purchase another one!
